Late Shri S. Purushotham envisioned a future where asafoetida (hing) would not just be a kitchen essential but a symbol of purity, trust, and heritage. Alongside his son, Shri P. Kothandaraman — a man known for his meticulous attention to quality and unwavering discipline — the duo built a strong foundation based on ethical sourcing, artisanal processing, and personal relationships with clients across Tamil Nadu.

Their combined efforts transformed Girija Purushotham and Company from a small-scale unit into a revered name in traditional Hing manufacturing. A New Chapter: Leadership with Purpose

On June 1, 2018, the mantle of leadership was passed to the next generation — Mr. Ko. Thuwarakeesh and Mr. Ko. Lashminarain, grandsons of the founder and torchbearers of the GPC legacy.
